Spray tan website design
Spray tan website design that gets clients ready before they arrive
How a spray tan develops depends partly on what the client does at home, before the visit and after it. In the UK, spray tan near me draws about 18,100 searches a month on average, and about 33,100 a month from April to June 2026. Your website explains each tan, its time and its price, what to do the day before and when to rinse, and lets a client ask for a visit that you then confirm.

Sorrel Studio is a fictional business. We designed and built its website as a demo of how we build for spray tan studios, using illustrative photography.

A first tan, a quicker rinse or a trial
Three treatments, each with its time and price: a studio tan for a first visit or a familiar routine, an express tan for an earlier first rinse, and an occasion trial ahead of a wedding or a photographed event. The express card says plainly that the colour keeps developing after the rinse.

02 / Before and after
The routine written down, not left to memory
One page lists what to do the day before and on the day, what to wear for the journey home, and what comes after: wait for the rinse time given for the solution used, follow the studio's guidance on water and exercise, and expect wear to vary. It ends by saying a spray tan gives no sun protection.
Rinse time per solution
03 / Promises
No shade promised, a trial offered
Asked whether the studio can promise a particular shade, the FAQ says no: skin, preparation and aftercare all change how a tan develops, so it offers a trial before an occasion. The gallery is a moodboard of labelled stock that says it is never a portfolio of client results.

Before the first tan
What a client reads before booking a tan.
Tans chosen by when the client can rinse
Set out each tan by what changes for the client: how long the visit takes, when they can shower and what it costs. An occasion trial gets a card of its own, with a note on planning the real tan around the day.
Preparation clients can follow the night before
A short list for the day before and the day itself, and what to wear home, written to be read on a phone. Add that the studio's own instructions come first, since they depend on the solution you use.
Sun protection, stated plainly
Cancer Research UK says a fake or natural tan does not protect skin from UV. Say so on the aftercare page, and keep any product description from suggesting an SPF the solution does not have.
Natural, organic and safe, used with care
The CAP Code bars suggesting a product is safe or effective just because it is natural, and asks for proof before calling anything absolutely safe. There is no UK standard for organic cosmetics, so name the certification if your solution has one.
Tan photos without a filter
In 2021 the ASA ruled against two tanning ads because a filter changed the colour of the skin, the very thing the product sells. Show your own tans as photographed, and label any stock as stock.
A booking request that waits for your reply
Clients choose a tan and a preferred time, leave one way to reply, and you confirm. Suitability questions come to you before the visit, not through the form. A booking system link is checked and priced before the quote.

0161 399 4054What will my fixed quote include?
Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.
Do I need a licence to run a spray tan studio?
Not for spray tanning on its own in the places we checked, though your council has the last word. London boroughs license special treatment premises under a 1991 Act and keep their own lists of what is caught: Bexley's and Southwark's current lists both say spray tanning does not require a licence, and Waltham Forest lists it among treatments not considered special treatments. In the rest of the UK, no licensing or registration law we read mentions spray tanning: England and Northern Ireland register electrolysis, piercing, tattooing and semi-permanent skin colouring where councils run the rules, Wales licenses four special procedures, and Scotland licenses skin piercing and tattooing. Sunbeds are a separate matter: Lewisham, for example, licenses UV tanning and sunbeds as a light treatment. Ask your council before you open, and again before adding a treatment.
What should my preparation and aftercare page say?
What your solution's instructions need from the client, in your own words. The demo's lists make a fair model: gentle exfoliation the day before, clean, dry skin without moisturiser, deodorant or make-up on the day, a word with the studio about shaving or waxing, and loose, dark clothes for the journey home. Afterwards it gives the rinse time for the solution used rather than a general figure, and says the colour keeps developing after an express rinse. About 590 searches a month ask how to prepare for a spray tan and 390 what to wear for one, so clients do look for this before they book. Write it per treatment, and say that the studio's own instructions come first.
Should my website say how long a tan lasts?
Only as far as you can back it up. About 8,100 searches a month ask how long a spray tan lasts, so clients will want an answer, but a number of days is an objective claim, and the CAP Code needs evidence for it before it is published. Wear depends on the solution, the skin and the aftercare. The demo's line is that development and wear vary, with written rinse times for each solution. If your solution's maker publishes a figure, quote it as theirs and say what affects it.
Can I call my tanning solution natural, organic or safe?
Be careful with all three. The CAP Code says marketing must not suggest a product is safe or effective merely because it is natural, and needs proof before a product or therapy is called absolutely safe or free of side effects. The ASA's advice adds that natural, for an ingredient, should mean it has had minimal processing. There is no UK standard for organic cosmetics, so if your solution is certified, name the certifying body's standard and do not call a whole range organic when only part of it is. In Great Britain the Cosmetic Products Regulation also bars implying a product has characteristics it does not have, so use the maker's own wording rather than a stronger version of it.
Should my website say a spray tan does not protect from the sun?
Yes. Cancer Research UK's advice is that a fake or natural tan does not protect skin from UV radiation, so people still need shade, clothing and a sunscreen of at least SPF 30 with 4 or 5 stars. The demo says so twice, in its FAQ and at the end of its aftercare list. Saying it plainly also keeps the page clear of any hint of an SPF the solution does not have.
How much does a spray tan studio website cost?
The number of tans and pages decides it. A studio with a couple of treatments fits Starter, from £295. Separate pages for the tans and aftercare, the team, reviews and directions make Essentials, from £595. A page for each tan is Business, from £995. Prices include VAT, and the figure is agreed in writing before any payment; our pricing page sets out what each includes.
