Bookkeeping website design
Bookkeeping website design for a practice clients can check
About 9,900 searches a month in the UK are for a bookkeeper, and 1,600 for bookkeepers near me. An owner about to hand over their records wants to know what a month costs, how the records will be shared and whether you are licensed and supervised. A bookkeeping website answers those three, then asks for a short outline of the business.

Daybook Studio, a demo we designed and built for bookkeepers. A fictional business, with illustrative photography.
Example site
A bookkeeping website for Altrincham
- Monthly plans by workload
- Three-step consultation request
- Membership number in the credentials strip

Daybook Studio is a fictional business. We designed and built its website as a demo of how we build for bookkeepers, using illustrative photography.
Open the live demo(opens in a new tab)01 / Monthly plans
Price the month by the workload
Three monthly plans, each with a transaction allowance (up to 50 or 150 a month, or a workload agreed), what is included and a starting price. The page says the quote confirms any extra charges and the VAT treatment, and that catch-up work is scoped separately.
A transaction allowance on each plan
02 / Consultation request
Ask about the records, not the bank details
The request takes three steps: what it is about, from bookkeeping and VAT to payroll or credit control, one way to reply, then a check before sending. It asks the client not to include bank details, a UTR or a National Insurance number.
No bank details in the first message
03 / Handover
Answer the accountant question early
The FAQs say how records are handed to the client's accountant and who does each task, and how a move from a previous bookkeeper works. The starter plan lists an organised accountant handover.
Handover set out before the call
Built for the owners you work for
Everything an owner checks before handing over the books.
A consultation request on every page
A short, stepped request from every page: what the owner needs help with, one way to reply, and a reminder to keep bank details and tax references out of the form.
Monthly plans by workload
Plans priced by transaction volume, payroll and VAT, with what each includes and what the quote confirms, so an owner can see roughly where they fit before the first call.
Your licence, where clients look
ICB asks for its Practice Licence before a member runs a bookkeeping business, and AAT asks members offering self-employed services to the public for its licence. If you hold one, it goes in the credentials strip, with your number.
Your money laundering supervisor named
Professional bookkeeping is an accountancy service under the money laundering regulations: you register with HMRC unless a professional body such as ICB or AAT supervises you. The site names which.
The crest, used the way the body allows
ICB's crest is for Practice Licence holders and can go on a website, but not where it could look like your own logo, and ICB approves the design first. We send it for approval before launch.
Pages for the businesses you serve
Sole traders, small businesses and tradespeople each get a plain page on the routine you keep for them: reconciliations, invoices and receipts, payroll and VAT returns.
Found when owners look for help
The right clients. Ready to hand over the books.
Bookkeeping website design for the owner whose records have fallen behind and who wants help this month.
Owners looking for a bookkeeper
Around 9,900 searches a month are for a bookkeeper, a search Google mostly answers with careers and salary pages. The 1,600 for bookkeepers near me and 1,300 for bookkeeping services are more likely to be owners looking for help.
Clients who check the directories
ICB and AAT both publish directories of their licensed members, and HMRC publishes a register of the businesses it supervises. Your number on the site lets a client match you.

The consultation request, monthly plans, pages for the businesses you serve, your credentials and FAQs, written with you. You sign off every page.
- 03
Launch
We send a test request from a phone, send any crest or logo use to your body for approval where it asks for that, and check your licence and supervisor details against your certificates. Then it goes live on a domain in your name.
Your questions, answered
A few things bookkeepers ask us.
Need a straight answer? Speak to us.
0161 399 4054What will my fixed quote include?
Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.
Do bookkeepers need a licence to offer services?
We found no law that licenses bookkeepers as such. The legal duty is money laundering supervision: professional bookkeeping is an accountancy service, so you must register with HMRC for supervision unless a professional body already supervises you, or every one of your clients is supervised itself. Your professional body may then ask for its own licence. ICB asks members to hold its Practice Licence before running a bookkeeping business, and that licence includes money laundering supervision. AAT asks members providing self-employed bookkeeping or accountancy services to the public to hold an AAT licence and be supervised for money laundering.
Can I put the ICB or AAT logo on my website?
ICB lets Practice Licence holders use its heraldic crest on a website, provided it is not placed where it could be taken for your own logo, is not distorted or recoloured, and the design is sent to ICB for approval first. For AAT, the rule we found covers students and affiliates: anyone not yet eligible for its licence must not refer to AAT in relation to services offered to the public. If you hold an AAT licence, we check AAT's current rules on its logo with you before it goes on the site. Either way, we follow the rules your body sets.
Should a bookkeeper's website show prices?
We found no rule that says it must. About 170 searches a month ask how much a bookkeeper costs, so the demo shows monthly plans from a starting price, each with a transaction allowance, and says the quote confirms the final fee. If you would rather not publish figures, the page can explain how you price a month instead.
What should a bookkeeping website include?
The routine you offer and who it is for, how you price a month, how records are shared and handed to the client's accountant, your licence and money laundering supervisor, and a consultation request on every page that keeps bank details out of the first message. The demo shows each of these on a sample practice, with sample numbers and generic labels where a real practice would name its body.
