Blinds and shutters website design
Blinds and shutters website design that books the home measure
Blinds and shutters website design is for a business that sells at the customer's window. Made to measure blinds draws around 14,800 UK searches a month. Before anyone is invited round with a sample case, a fitter's website has three things to settle: roughly what each product costs once fitted, when you can come, and how corded blinds are made safe around children. Then it takes a request for a measure, at a time you confirm by phone.

Booking the visit, not the blinds
Four steps, Blinds, Where, You and Check: the products of interest and how many windows, then the postcode and a preferred time for the visit, then a name with a mobile number or email, and a screen to check it all. The time is marked "A preference, not a booking. We call to agree a time." The form also says the customer orders later, by accepting the written quote, and points to the sample terms on the deposit and made-to-measure orders.

02 / Prices
A fitted starting price on every product
Roller, Roman, Venetian and vertical blinds, plantation shutters and motorised blinds each carry a starting price per window, "measured and fitted, for a typical window about 120cm by 150cm", so a household can tell which products fit the budget before a visit. The written quote after the measure sets the real figure.
Fitting counted in the price
03 / The visit
The home measure explained before it happens
The contact page sets out "The measure, minute by minute" for three or four windows: from the arrival with dust sheets and samples, through a look at each window, measuring twice and samples held against the glass, to a written price at 55 minutes. A customer knows how long to set aside and what they will be left with.

Built for householders pricing a window
What a household weighs up before inviting a fitter round.
A measure request, not a booking
Products, the number of windows, a postcode and a preferred visit slot, then a name and a number or email. You call back to fix the time, which keeps the van's day in your hands.
Starting prices with fitting counted
Each product with a from-price that already includes measuring and fitting, and the window size it assumes. Under the CAP Code, a from-price must not exaggerate how often it is available.
Cord safety in the words of the guidance
OPSS says new blinds with looped cords must have child safety devices installed when they are made, or come with them. Your site says how you fit them, and which styles have no cord at all.
Terms for orders signed at the kitchen table
UK law treats an order agreed in the customer's home as an off-premises contract. The price, any deposit and their cancellation rights, or the lack of them, reach them in writing before they are bound.
A page for each blind and shutter
Roller, Roman, Venetian and vertical blinds, plantation shutters and motorised blinds, each with what is included, the rooms it suits and how it goes up.
Advice for the window in front of them
Short guides on what a measure raises, such as blinds or shutters for a bay, and making older corded blinds safer, with the measure request at the foot of each.

How it works
From first chat to a website that works.
- 01
Brief
Tell us the blinds and shutters you sell, your starting prices and what they include, the towns you cover, what you take as a deposit and when an order can be cancelled, and how measure requests reach you today. If a diary or quoting app already runs your visits, we look at how the site would hand requests to it, and the cost of that goes into the quote.
- 02
Build
The measure request, the six product pages, the fitted starting prices, the home visit explained, your child-safety wording and your terms, drafted with you and approved by you line by line.
- 03
Launch
We send test measure requests to every inbox that should get them, check each starting price against your list and the safety wording against what you actually fit, and try the request on a phone. Then we switch it on, at a domain registered to you.

0161 399 4054What will my fixed quote include?
Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.
Do blinds need child safety devices by law?
In Great Britain the law is the General Product Safety Regulations 2005, which allow only safe products to be supplied. The standard for internal blinds, BS EN 13120:2009+A1:2014, was revised in 2014 to deal with looped cords and chains, and the government lists it, with two standards on strangulation hazards, as giving a presumption that a blind is safe. OPSS says new blinds with looped cords must have child safety devices "installed at the point of manufacture or be sold with the blind". The government's 2014 Q&A calls the standard voluntary and following it "sufficient, but not necessary", so the accurate line for your website is that every corded blind you fit has its safety device fitted, rather than any claim about what the law bans. In Northern Ireland, the EU's General Product Safety Regulation has applied since 13 December 2024.
Can a customer change their mind after ordering made-to-measure blinds?
Often not, and your paperwork has to say so. Anywhere in the UK, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 treat an order agreed in the customer's home as an off-premises contract, and the right to cancel does not apply to goods made to the consumer's specifications. Trading Standards' Business Companion gives a made-to-measure pair of curtains as an example, and says goods made to a specification simply by combining stock items do not count, so a blind put together from stock parts keeps the usual 14 days from delivery. Whether the exception also covers the fitting may depend on the order, so your terms should say what applies. The customer must be told before they are bound, on paper, or by email if they agree. Where the right does apply and you fit inside the 14 days, get their request in writing first. Our quote template includes the cancellation form.
Can I take a deposit when a customer orders made-to-measure blinds?
Yes, if the terms are clear and fair. Any deposit and its conditions belong in the written information a customer gets before an order taken in their home binds them (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, Schedule 2). If they later cancel, the CMA's guidance on fair terms says what you keep "must take into account what your business will actually lose", and a term that keeps prepayments whatever the reason is unlikely to be fair. A deposit of no more than a small percentage of the price can be kept in full if your terms say exactly when it stops being refundable. Blinds already made for one set of windows may not be resaleable, so the loss can be real. If you cancel and the customer is not at fault, the CMA's guidance is to refund it. The quote-writing guide shows where the deposit sits on the quote.
Can my website say free measure, or free fitting?
A free measure, yes, as long as the visit, the samples and the written quote cost nothing and the site is clear about any commitment, such as none to order: CAP Code rules 3.23 and 3.24 cover both points. Free fitting is harder. Rule 3.25 says an element included in a package price must not be called free unless it was recently added without the price going up, and CAP's rule of thumb is to stop calling an element free once it has been in the package for more than six months. If fitting is always in your price, measured and fitted, or fitting included, says it truthfully. Since 6 April 2025, UK law has also banned calling something free when the customer has to pay anything beyond the unavoidable cost of responding (the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, Schedule 20).
Should shutters be priced per square metre or per window on my website?
Either works, if the basis is plain and one line never mixes the two. About 140 UK searches a month ask for plantation shutters cost per window, so a price for a typical window, with its size stated, matches how those searches are phrased; per square metre suits bays and unusual shapes. CAP Code rule 3.22 says a from-price must not exaggerate how often it is available, and CAP's advice applies a significant-proportion test, case by case, with any relevant restriction stated beside the price. So quote a starting figure you really fit at, say what it includes, and leave the exact price to the written quote.
Is it all right to offer a price that is only good on the day of the visit?
Not if the deadline is false. Since 6 April 2025 the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, which applies across the UK, bans falsely saying a price or product is available only for a limited time to push an immediate decision. The same schedule bans ignoring a customer's request to leave their home, and making a materially inaccurate claim about the safety risk to anyone living there if they do not buy, which matters when you talk about old corded blinds. A written quote that stays open for a stated number of days, said on the website and on the quote, gives the customer time and you a firm date.
