Physiotherapy website design

Physiotherapy website design built around the first appointment

Physiotherapy website design starts with a patient deciding whether to book. Around 60,500 searches a month in the UK look for a physio nearby, and the people behind them want three answers before they call: what you treat, what it costs, and that the person they will see is a registered physiotherapist. Your website gives all three on a phone, then takes a booking request for the right treatment with the right clinician.

01 / Booking

Book the treatment, then the clinician

The booking request runs in five steps: the treatment, who the patient would like to see, a preferred day and time, their details, then a check. Each treatment shows its length and fee, a clinician who does not offer it is marked, and the form says nothing is booked until the clinic confirms.

Confirmed by the clinic

02 / Clinicians

Show who the patient will see

Each clinician has a profile with their qualifications, the days they see patients, what they treat and an HCPC registration number, a sample on the demo. The sports massage therapist is listed with her own qualification, not under the physiotherapist title.

03 / First visit

Answer the questions before the first appointment

The homepage and the FAQs cover what happens at a first appointment, how long it takes, what to bring and wear, whether a GP referral is needed and how to claim on health insurance, so the patient arrives knowing what to expect.

Built for your patients

Everything a patient checks before booking.

The booking request first, then what a patient checks: who they will see, what it costs, and what the clinic says it can help with.
  • A booking request on every page

Patients choose the treatment, the clinician and a preferred time, and the clinic confirms each request, so the diary stays yours. If you run a practice management system, we check whether the site can link to it before quoting.

  • An HCPC number on every physiotherapist

Physiotherapist is a title protected by law, and patients can check the HCPC register by surname or registration number. With the number on each profile, the check takes seconds.

  • Fees set out by appointment

Initial assessment, follow-up and massage sessions, each with its length and price, and what to check with a health insurer before booking.

  • Treatment claims you can stand behind

The ASA's advice for physiotherapists lists conditions it is likely to accept treatment claims for, such as back pain, joint pains and minor sports injuries; anything else needs evidence, most likely clinical trials. We write from what you can support, and you approve every line.

  • Pages for the treatments you see most

Sports injury, back and neck pain, rehab after surgery: each page says what a session involves and answers what people ask first.

  • Advice patients come back to

Short guides, such as easing a stiff lower back or preparing for a first appointment, each saying when to seek urgent help instead of filling in a form.

Found by patients nearby

The right patients. Booked with the right clinician.

Physiotherapy website design for the patient choosing a clinic, who checks the fees and the clinician's registration before booking.

  • Patients searching nearby

Around 60,500 searches a month look for a physio nearby, and 27,100 for sports massage. Each is a patient choosing a clinic before they call.

  • People checking the register

Searches for the HCPC register run at around 40,500 a month, across all 15 professions it covers and including registrants checking their own entry. For a patient who checks, a number on each profile saves a step.

    Brief

Tell us the treatments you offer, who sees which patients, your fees, the insurers you work with and how you take bookings now. We agree the scope and a fixed price, including how booking requests reach your diary.

  2. 02

    Build

The booking request, clinician profiles with registration numbers, fees, treatment pages and advice, written with you. You sign off every page and every treatment claim.

  3. 03

    Launch

We send a test booking request, check each HCPC number on the register and each fee against your price list, and try the site on a phone. Then it goes live on a domain in your name.

Your questions, answered

A few things physiotherapists ask us.

What will my fixed quote include?

Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.

Is physiotherapist a protected title?

Yes. Physiotherapist and physical therapist are titles protected by law, and only someone on the HCPC register may use them. On your website the title belongs on a registered clinician's profile, best with their registration number beside it. A sports massage therapist or rehab assistant on the team is described by their own role.

How do patients check a physiotherapist is registered?

On the HCPC's Check the Register page, by surname or registration number, after choosing the profession. The record also shows any entitlements annotated against it, such as independent prescribing. With the number on each profile, a patient can check in seconds.

What can a physiotherapy website say it treats?

Marketing on your own website comes under the CAP Code. The ASA's advice on physiotherapy, dated 20 February 2024, lists conditions it is likely to accept claims to treat, among them back pain, joint pains, arthritic pain, cramp, muscle spasms and minor sports injuries. Because physiotherapists are regulated by statute, claims about serious conditions can be acceptable with robust evidence; any other claim needs documentary evidence, most likely clinical trials. The code also bars discouraging essential treatment for conditions that need medical supervision. We write treatment pages from what you can support, and you approve them.

Can bookings go straight into my clinic diary?

Many clinics already use a practice management or booking system. Whether the website can link to yours depends on the system, so we check it before we quote and write the answer into the fixed price. If it cannot, the site takes booking requests, as both demos do, and the clinic confirms each one.

Could I use a template or a free website builder instead?

You can, and some clinics start that way. What we add is the writing and the structure: treatments, clinicians, fees and booking set out the way patients choose a clinic, built to your brief. You own the site, the domain and the content.
