Hair salon website design
Hair salon website design that turns the hair menu into bookings
Hair salon website design starts with the questions a client asks first: how long will it take, what will it cost, and who will do it. Around 165,000 searches a month in the UK look for hairdressers near me, and as many again for a hair salon near me. Your own website is where that search becomes a booking: a hair menu with times and prices, a booking request by stylist, and the skin test a colour client needs, explained before they book.

- Times and prices on every service
- Skin test before colour
Demo website

Aurel Hair Studio is a fictional business. We designed and built its website as a demo of how we build for hair salons, using illustrative photography.

Book the service, then the stylist
The booking request takes five steps: the service, the stylist, a day and time, your details, then a check. A stylist who does not do the chosen service shows as not available, and nothing is booked until the salon confirms it.
Confirmed by the salon
02 / Hair menu
Twelve services, each with its time
Cuts, colour and treatments, from a fringe trim to full head balayage, each with how long it takes and a from-price. A client can see how much time to set aside before choosing a slot.
Times on every service
03 / Colour
Explain the skin test before colour
New to colour with the salon, six months since the last, or a tattoo or henna since? The menu, the booking form and the FAQ say when the salon's colour brand asks for a skin test, at least 48 hours before. Walk-ins are offered cuts and blow-dries, and colour is by appointment.

Built for your clients
Everything a client checks before booking a chair.
A hair menu with times and prices
Every service with how long it takes and what it starts from, grouped into cuts, colour and treatments, so a client books the right length of appointment.
Booking requests by stylist
Clients choose a service, then a stylist who does it, then a time; a mobile hairdresser's form asks for the postcode instead of a stylist, so the route can be planned. If a booking system already holds your appointment book, we check how the site links to it and price that up front.
The skin test, before they book
Colour makers set when a client needs an allergy alert test, and the result is read over 48 hours. The site says when you need one and how to arrange it.
Hours, and where the appointment happens
For a salon, today's opening hours on every page, what a walk-in can have without an appointment, and directions and parking. For a mobile hairdresser, the areas you visit and what the client needs ready at home: a chair, room to work around it and a socket nearby.
A lookbook of your own work
Your colour and cutting work in a portfolio clients scroll before they pick a stylist, each look named, and never stock photographs passed off as yours.
Stylists and what each does best
A profile for each stylist, or one for you if you work alone, with their speciality, from balayage to precision cutting, so a client picks the right person as well as the right time.
Found when clients choose a hairdresser
The right clients. In the right chair.
Hair salon website design for the client trying a new hairdresser, at a salon or at home, who wants the price and the stylist before they book.
Clients searching nearby
Searches for hairdressers near me and for a hair salon near me run at about 165,000 a month each in the UK. Another 5,400 look for a blow-dry nearby, and 12,100 for a mobile hairdresser near me.
Colour clients planning ahead
About 1,900 searches a month look for balayage nearby and 1,600 for hair colour. Colour takes longer and may need a skin test first, so the site explains both.

Your questions, answered
A few things salons and mobile hairdressers ask us.
Need a straight answer? Speak to us.
0161 399 4054What will my fixed quote include?
Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.
What should a hair salon website include?
A menu with what each service costs and how long it takes, a way to book from every page, your stylists and what each does best, your own work, and your address, hours and parking, or the areas you visit if you are mobile. For colour clients, add when a skin test is needed and how to arrange one. The first demo puts each of these on its homepage and gives each its own page.
Can new clients fill in a consultation before their first colour?
The first part, yes. The first demo's booking request reminds a new colour client about the skin test, so it can be booked at least 48 hours ahead, and asks which stylist and which service they want. The rest of the consultation, including your colour brand's questions, happens with the stylist at the appointment, in the salon or the client's home, where it can be checked against the client's hair and skin.
When does a client need a skin test before colour?
Your colour brand's instructions decide. Wella's leaflet, for example, uses a consultation to decide, and calls for an allergy alert test for a new colour client, a different brand or shade, more than six months since their last colour in the salon, more than 12 months since their last test, a skin tattoo, henna or permanent make-up since their last colour, or a reaction to any product since then. The NHBF's guidance on the harmonised test has the client watch the test area for 48 hours, and says to check your insurer's wording too. The site then says what you ask for, in plain words, on the menu and the booking form.
Can a client cancel a booking they made online?
A booking made online or by phone, through a system you run for that, is a distance contract under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. For a service, the client normally has 14 days to cancel without a reason, and you start the service within that time only if they expressly ask. The rules list exceptions, including services related to leisure activities booked for a specific date. How they apply to your bookings is a question for your own adviser; the site states your terms plainly, and we do not write legal terms.
How much does a hair salon website cost?
Three fixed prices, all including VAT: Starter from £295 for a one-chair salon or a mobile hairdresser on a single page; Essentials from £595 for five pages with your timed price list, stylists and reviews; Business from £995 for a page per service, from cuts to colour, and a gallery of your own work. How bookings reach you can change the quote, so we check that first and fix the price in writing before you pay.
Do I need a website if clients already book me through an app?
An app takes the booking once a client has chosen you. A website is where a new client chooses: your hair menu with times and prices, the stylists and what each does best, the skin test before colour, and a gallery of your own work, all on a domain you own. The two work together, and the site sends people on to book the way you already take bookings.
