Financial adviser website design
Financial adviser website design with your regulatory status in plain view
Searches for the FCA Register run at about 90,500 a month in the UK, and 1,600 more are for a financial adviser near me. A client choosing an adviser checks the firm is authorised and wants to know how fees work before a first meeting. Your website shows both. The FCA says a financial promotion can take the form of a website, and a promotion must be fair, clear and not misleading, so every page is yours to sign off before it goes live.

Demo website

Elmwick Financial Planning is a fictional business. We designed and built its website as a demo of how we build for financial advisers, using illustrative photography.
Open the live demo(opens in a new tab)01 / Fees
Explain the fee at each stage
The fees page sets out the first conversation at no charge, a structured review from a sample fee, and ongoing reviews by agreement. It lists what to ask before going ahead: what is included, what might cost extra and how charges are paid.
Fees set out by stage
02 / Regulatory information
Give the status its own page
A regulatory information page is linked from every footer and from the homepage, where a real firm's FRN and status would sit. On the demo it says plainly that the number is a sample and no regulated service is offered.
Linked from every page
03 / Risk wording
Put the risk beside the claim
Wherever the site mentions investments or tax, it repeats that the value of investments can fall as well as rise and that tax treatment depends on circumstances. The discovery call is described as not a personal recommendation.
Risk wording beside the claim
Built for your clients
Everything a client checks before a first meeting.
Your FCA status where clients look
The law asks a business website to show the register you are on, your registration number and your regulator's details, easily and permanently. Your FRN and FCA status go in the footer and on a regulatory page, in the wording your letters already carry.
Pages you sign off before they go live
The FCA says a financial promotion can take the form of a website, and your firm must make sure its promotions are fair, clear and not misleading. We write with you; you, or whoever handles your compliance, approve every page.
The Financial Ombudsman, on the site
The FCA's complaints rules ask for clear information about the Financial Ombudsman Service, including its website address, on your website. It sits with a summary of how you handle complaints.
A discovery call request on every page
A short, stepped request from every page: what the client wants to discuss, one way to reply, and a reminder to keep bank and account details out of the form.
Services by what clients are planning
Pages for retirement and pensions, investments, inheritance tax and estate planning, and business owners, each with the risk wording beside the claims it makes.
Guides before the first meeting
Plain articles on preparing for a discovery call and organising financial paperwork, general guidance rather than personal recommendations, each ending in a request.
Found when clients check you
The right clients. Who have checked you first.
Financial adviser website design for the client who looks you up on the Register before they call.
Clients checking the Register
About 90,500 searches a month are for the FCA Register, the public record of authorised firms, which also flags clone firms copying a genuine firm's details. Your FRN on the site lets a client match you.
Clients looking nearby
Around 1,600 searches a month are for a financial adviser near me, and 720 for an IFA near me. A clear fees page and a discovery call request turn that search into a first meeting.

Your questions, answered
A few things financial advisers ask us.
Need a straight answer? Speak to us.
0161 399 4054What will my fixed quote include?
Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.
Does a financial adviser's website count as a financial promotion?
It can, and an adviser's site that promotes its services is best treated as one. The FCA says financial promotions can take the form of a website, and that every promotion must be fair, clear and not misleading whatever the medium. Under COBS 4.2.1R your firm must make sure it is. That is why you, or whoever handles your compliance, sign off every page before launch and before any later change.
What regulatory information should the website show?
Start with what the law asks of any business website. Under the Electronic Commerce Regulations 2002 your name, address and contact details must be easily, directly and permanently accessible, and so must the register you are entered in with your registration number, and the details of the authority that supervises you: for an adviser, the FCA Register, your FRN and the FCA. The FCA's complaints rules add clear information about the Financial Ombudsman Service, including its website address. Letters and emails to retail clients must carry your regulatory status, and we use the same wording on the site. A client can then check you on the FCA Register, which also lists clone firms.
How should my website explain my fees?
Stage by stage, the way the demo's fees page does: what the first conversation costs, if anything, then the advice stage and any ongoing service, each with what is included, what might cost extra and how charges are paid. A fees page is part of how you promote the firm, so it has to be fair, clear and not misleading, and you or your compliance support approve the wording.
Can you supply compliance-approved content or calculators?
We do not supply pre-approved compliance content, and we do not approve promotions. We write the pages with you, in your words, and you or your compliance support approve them. If you want a calculator or a market data feed, we check what it involves and price it before the quote.
How much does a financial adviser website cost?
A sole adviser can start with Starter, from £295. Essentials, from £595, has room for services, fees by stage, about and contact, with your regulatory details on every page. Business, from £995, adds a page for each kind of planning you offer. Prices include VAT. We write the pages with you, you approve them, and the price is fixed in writing before you pay anything.
