Dog grooming website design

Dog grooming website design that asks about the dog first

Dog grooming website design starts with a question no other salon asks: what kind of dog? Size, coat and condition set the time and the price, and a mobile groomer also needs the postcode. Around 74,000 searches a month in the UK look for dog groomers near me, 9,900 for mobile dog grooming and 880 for dog grooming prices. Your website gives owners a starting price by size, asks about their dog when they book, and shows whether you come to them.

01 / Salon or mobile

Ask where the groom happens, first

The homepage asks salon visit or mobile visit before anything else. Mobile visits name the towns covered, the booking form asks for a postcode to check it, and the FAQ says the van brings its own water and power.

Postcode checked for mobile visits

02 / Prices

Start from a price by size

Each groom shows a from-price by size, with example breeds for small, medium and large dogs, and says the price depends on size, coat and condition. The salon confirms the price for each dog before the groom.

Confirmed before the groom

03 / Booking

Tell us about your dog

A five-step request: the groom, your dog's size and breed, a drop-off time, your details, then a check. There is room for anything the groomer should know, and the reply confirms the time and the price.

Built for dog owners

Everything an owner checks before booking a groom.

Where the groom happens, what it costs for this dog, and what the groomer needs to know.
  • Prices by size and coat

From-prices for small, medium and large dogs with example breeds, and a line saying coat and condition can change it, so owners know roughly before they ask.

  • A booking request about the dog

Owners choose the groom, then tell you the size, the breed and anything you should know. Bookings can keep arriving the way they do now; if you use a booking system, we look at linking it before we quote.

  • Salon, mobile or both

Your salon address and drop-off times, the towns your van covers and a postcode check on mobile bookings, so nobody books a visit you cannot make.

  • Puppies, nervous dogs and matted coats

Your answers on a puppy's first groom, nervous dogs and matted coats, the questions owners ask before a first visit, written in your own words.

  • Your own grooms in the gallery

Photographs of your own work, before and after where you have both, each named by breed and groom, never stock photographs passed off as yours.

  • Drop-off, collection and how long it takes

When to drop off, how long a full groom takes and how you tell owners it is time to collect, on the pages owners read before they book.

How it works

From first chat to a website that works.

  1. 01

    Brief

Tell us your grooms and how you price them by size and coat, whether you work in a salon, a van or both, the areas you cover and how you take bookings now. We agree the scope and a fixed price, including how bookings reach you.

  2. 02

    Build

The services and prices, the booking request, the areas you cover, your answers on puppies, nervous dogs and coats, the gallery and the find us page, written with you. You sign off every page.

  3. 03

    Launch

We send test bookings for a salon groom and a mobile visit, check every price against your list and the postcode check against the areas you cover, and try it all on a phone. Then it goes live on a domain in your name.

Your questions, answered

A few things dog groomers ask us.

What will my fixed quote include?

Your pages, the features on them, the final price and the timescale, in writing before you pay a deposit. Hosting, care and any ongoing SEO are listed separately, so you can see what is one-off and what is monthly. On the Business package the first year of hosting and care is included.

What should a dog grooming website include?

Your grooms with a starting price by size, whether you work in a salon, a van or both and the areas you cover, a booking request that asks about the dog, how drop-off and collection work, your answers on puppies, nervous dogs and matted coats, and photographs of your own grooms. The demo puts the salon or mobile choice, the prices and the booking on its homepage.

Do dog groomers need a licence in England?

Not for grooming itself. The Animal Welfare (Licensing of Activities Involving Animals) (England) Regulations 2018 license five activities: selling animals as pets, boarding for cats or dogs including day care for dogs, hiring out horses, dog breeding, and keeping or training animals for exhibition. Grooming is not one of them, and the government's list of pet activities that need a licence names the same five. If you also board dogs or run day care, that part needs a licence from your council.

What does the Animal Welfare Act mean for a groomer?

While a dog is with you, you are responsible for it. In England and Wales, the Animal Welfare Act 2006 counts anyone in charge of an animal, even for a few hours, as responsible for it, and makes it an offence not to take reasonable steps to meet its needs, including protecting it from pain, suffering, injury and disease. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own animal welfare laws. On your website that shows in what you say about breaks, nervous dogs, matted coats and when you would stop a groom: your own practice, in your words.

How do I show prices when every dog is different?

With a starting price by size and a line on what changes it. Where you have not set a price for a type of service, the Provision of Services Regulations 2009 require you to give a customer who asks the price, or a method for working it out that they can check, or a detailed estimate. A from-price by size, with coat and condition named as what changes it, gives owners a starting point before they ask; when they do, you give the price for their dog, or how it is worked out, and confirm it before the groom.

Can the site take bookings for mobile visits?

The demo's booking request asks for the postcode on a mobile visit so the groomer can check it is in the area, then confirms the time and the price. If you already use a booking system, we check how it links from the site before we quote and write that into the fixed price.

How much does a dog grooming website cost?

For a one-table groomer, Starter at £295 puts prices by size, contact details and a booking request on one page. A salon or a van with set areas fits Essentials, from £595, over five pages. Business, from £995, gives each service and each area the van covers a page of its own. Those figures include VAT; we confirm the package and put one fixed price in writing before you pay.

Should my website say how long a groom takes?

Yes, as a guide, because owners plan their day around it. The demo gives drop-off from 9am and collection 2 to 3 hours later for a full groom, and says it will text when the dog is ready. Size, coat and condition change the time just as they change the price, so give a range rather than a promise, and confirm it with the price for each dog.
