How to get your Google review link
There are two ways, and both give a link that opens your review form.
- With this tool: search for your business, paste a Google Maps link, or enter your Place ID. Your link appears straight away, and you do not need to manage the listing.
- From your Google Business Profile, if you manage it: on a computer, open your profile, select Read reviews, then Get more reviews, and copy the link (Google's help page (opens in a new tab)).
How to make a Google review QR code
- Find your business above.
- Choose the colours: keep the code dark on a light background.
- Scan the preview with your phone to test it.
- Download it as SVG or PNG, or pick a print template.
- Print it at least 30mm wide on a card, and 100mm on a poster.
Where to put your QR code
- Invoices and quotes: the footer strip drops into a Word, Xero or QuickBooks template.
- The van: the 300mm decal is big enough to scan from a couple of metres.
- Business cards: on the back, with a line asking for a review.
- Job sheets and handover packs: the moment the job is signed off.
- A sticker on the boiler, fuse board or meter cupboard, where the customer looks again.
- Your shop or office window, with the white-background decal.
How do I leave a Google review?
On a computer, sign in to Google Maps, search for the business, click Write a review, choose the stars, add a few words and post it (Google's help page (opens in a new tab)). On a phone, the review link or QR code does the searching for you: it opens the review form directly.
If your customers are not sure how, print the "How to leave us a review" card from the templates: it has the steps and your code on one card.
Can customers leave a review without a Google account?
No. Google does not accept anonymous reviews, so the customer needs to be signed in to a Google account. If they are not signed in, Google asks them to sign in or create an account before the review form opens.
What you can and cannot do when asking for reviews
- You can ask every customer, in person, by text, by email or on a printed card.
- You cannot offer money, discounts or anything else in return for a review.
- You cannot ask only the customers you think are happy, or put people off leaving a bad one.
- You cannot write reviews for customers, or post them from your own accounts.
- There is no link that fills in five stars. Any tool that says otherwise is breaking the rules.
These come from Google's policy on fake engagement (policy page (opens in a new tab)). Breaking them can get reviews removed and a profile restricted.
Google review QR code stands and NFC tags
A stand is simply your QR code in a holder on the counter; the A6 counter card fits a standard acrylic sign holder. An NFC tag is a sticker a phone reads when it touches it: write your review link to a blank tag with a free NFC app on your phone, and it does the same job as the code.
Why the QR code never expires
The code holds Google's own review link for your business, not a link to us, so it keeps working whatever happens to this site. It is a static code: there is no account to keep paying for, unlike the "dynamic" codes some QR sites sell, which stop working when a trial ends.
The optional tracked link is the one exception, and it is built to keep working too: it carries your Place ID, so our server sends people to Google without looking anything up. We only use it to count.
Frequently asked questions
How do I get a QR code for Google reviews?
Find your business at the top of this page, then download the code as a PNG or SVG, or as a print-ready card or sticker. If you manage the Business Profile, Google also offers a basic code under Read reviews, then Get more reviews, on a computer.
How to create a QR code for a review?
Put your review link into a QR code generator. This page does both steps: it finds your business, builds the review link, and turns it into a code you can colour, add your logo to and print.
Can I scan a Google review QR code online?
Yes. Point your phone's camera at the code on the screen and tap the link that appears. It is the best way to test a code before you print it: it should open the review form for your business.
Where can I find Google review QR code stickers?
Make your own: download the 50mm or 75mm round sticker template and have it printed on sticker paper or by a local printer. The code on it never expires, so the stickers do not need replacing.
How do I get my Google QR code?
If you manage your Business Profile, open it on a computer and select Read reviews, then Get more reviews. Or use this tool, which works without access to the profile and lets you style and print the code.
How do I create a link for a Google review?
Find your business on this page and copy the link. It is Google's own review address with your Place ID in it, so it opens the write-a-review box directly.
How do I leave a Google review for a company?
Sign in to Google, search for the company on Google Maps, and choose Write a review. Pick the stars, add a few words and post. If the company gave you a review link or QR code, open that instead: it goes straight to the form.
Where is the leave a review button on Google?
On the business's Google Maps listing, scroll down to the reviews and choose Write a review. On a computer it is on the left-hand panel. A review link or QR code from the business skips straight to it.
Can I leave a review on Google if I don't have a Google account?
No. Google does not accept anonymous reviews, so you need to sign in to a Google account first. Creating one is free.
How do I leave a Google review in the UK?
The same way as anywhere: sign in to Google, find the business on Google Maps, choose Write a review, pick your stars and post. A review link or QR code from the business takes you straight there.
Why can't I leave reviews on Google?
Usually because you are not signed in, the listing does not accept reviews, or Google has held the review while it checks it. Reviews that break Google's rules, such as ones offered for a reward, can also be removed.
How do I leave a review?
Open the business's review link or scan its QR code, sign in to Google if asked, tap the stars, add a few words about the job, and post. It takes about a minute.
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
Your business needs to be on Google Maps for there to be anything to review, but you do not need to manage the profile to make a link with this tool. Managing it lets you reply to reviews, which customers notice.
Can I make a link that gives five stars?
No. There is no such link, and asking for five stars or rewarding a good review breaks Google's rules. The link opens the form; the customer picks the stars.
Why does my QR code not scan?
The usual causes are a light code on a dark background, too little contrast, printing it too small, or a logo that covers too much. This tool blocks the first two, keeps logos to a safe size, and tells you the minimum print size.
Can I use the Google logo on my card?
We leave it off. The Google logo is Google's trade mark, and putting it on your own print can suggest Google endorses you. "Review us on Google" in plain words does the job.
Does this work for a service area business with no address shown?
Yes. A business that hides its address still has a listing and a Place ID, so search for it by name. If it does not come up, paste the link from the Share button on your listing.
